The Japanese Government is making steady progress in the strengthening of the home front for the prosecution of the Greater East Asia war, which is now certain to last a long time. By the establishment of the Greater East Asia Ministry, it has laid the foundations for the rationalisation of Japanese administration and for increasing production in the occupied areas. Increased production is a fundamental objective in which the Government is cooperating with the Taisei Yokusankai and the Yokusan Seijikai.

Isogai spoke in Hong Kong yesterday. He said: "The great majority of people in Hong Kong are Chinese, but Hong Kong is to be controlled by the Japanese. It is eight months since the Japanese occupied Hong Kong. The result of the Japanese administration is very satisfactory and I am very grateful to the Government officials who have taken part in this work.
